Palm Springs, CA

January 20th 2020

With my new found time off we’ve been making the most of things and seeing as much family as possible. After Christmas and a couple weeks in Salt Lake we made the trip down to visit my parents and Uncle Ron in Palm springs and spend 10 days there enjoying the warm weather, and the even warmer family.

Now that Rosie is awake all of the time and acting like a fully functioning baby, it’s been really fun to hang with baby that does more than just sleep. She also just learned how to smile, and hasn’t been holding back at all. It’s been really fun seeing my parents interact with her. It was really fun seeing my dad come and grab Rosie and take her out on the patio to sing to her and play with her. I don’t think a lot of granpa’s go out of their way like that. Honestly, every day here has felt like a gift, and it’s going down as one of our favourite all time getaways. Seeing that smiling face on Rosie every other minute, playing with her by the pool, going on drives with Mom and Uncle Ron to go look at mid century modern architecture, or going out to La Quinta to watch a polo match. It has honestly been such a blast.

It was also  really fun to spend lots of time with Uncle Ron. It was the first chance for him and Morgan to get to know each other a little bit better. They really hit it off and are already planning a trip together to D.C. to check out his old stomping grounds.

I grew up going to Palm Springs almost every spring break. At first we were staying at my grandparents trailer at Blue Skies village till I was around 13 or 14 and my parents bought their own trailer in Blue Skies off of a whim. It’s become such a special place for me. It’s become my nostalgic happy place. I could spend months there, but what’s really cool is how much Morgan loves being there as well. I love it.
